Portman Road to Stage County Cup Finals - Ipswich Town News

Portman Road will stage four Suffolk FA county cup finals in May.

The finals of the Omni Freight Services Suffolk Premier Cup, CNet Training Suffolk Senior Cup, the Suffolk Junior Cup and Suffolk Primary Cup will all be staged at Portman Road unless the Blues are involved in the Championship play-offs.

The games will take place from Tuesday 8th May until Friday 11th May 11th with all the games 7.30pm kick-offs. Which final will take place on which day is yet to be decided.

Last season only the Senior Cup final was staged at Portman Road due to the pitch being renovated and the Elton John concert with the other games hosted by Colchester United at the Weston Homes Community Stadium.

Suffolk FA chief executive Richard Neal said: "We’re delighted to be able to host four Suffolk FA County Cup finals with Ipswich Town Football Club this year.

"Our strapline for county cups is ‘Living the Dream’ and we thank the team at ITFC for their commitment to make that ambition a reality for the players, coaches, spectators and officials involved in these finals.

Town club secretary Stuart Hayton added: "We are thrilled to be staging these county cup finals at Portman Road. It is important that we as a club continue to support and engage with our local communities and with grassroots football.

"We look forward to watching some of the most talented amateur players from Suffolk showing their skills on the Portman Road pitch.”
