Six Changes as Town Face Hull - Ipswich Town News

Town boss Mick McCarthy makes six changes from the team which drew 0-0 at home with Sheffield United on Saturday for tonight’s game against Hull City at Portman Road with Luke Hyam, Grant Ward, Jordan Spence, Jonas Knudsen, Tristan Nydam and Freddie Sears all starting.

Cole Skuse misses out, presumably due to injury, as does Dominic Iorfa (groin), while Adam Webster, Martyn Waghorn, Callum Connolly and Myles Kenlock all drop to the bench.

The Blues look set to switch to the 4-3-2-1 system they favoured until last month with Hyam and Stephen Gleeson the deeper midfielders with Bersant Celina, Ward and Nydam the trio behind lone striker Sears.

Joe Garner, whose wife gave birth earlier today, was due to be on the bench but was a late drop out, although apparently due to injury. Aaron Drinan takes his place among the subs.

For Hull, Fraizer Campbell comes in for Abel Hernandez, Michael Hector for Ondrei Mazuch and in goal Allan McGregor for David Marshall.

Town: Bialkowski, Spence, Carter-Vickers, Chambers (c), Knudsen, Gleeson, Hyam, Ward, Nydam, Celina, Sears. Subs: M Crowe, Webster, Waghorn, Drinan, Connolly, Kenlock, Morris.

Hull City: McGregor, Irvine, Hector, Larsson, Bowen, Dawson (c), Henriksen, Clark, Campbell, Aina, Wilson. Subs: Marshall, Grosocki, Meyler, Dicko, Keane, Tomori, MacDonald. Referee: Jeremy Simpson (Lancashire).
