Carter-Vickers in US Squad - Ipswich Town News

Town’s on-loan Tottenham defender Cameron Carter-Vickers has been named in the US squad for their friendly against Paraguay in Cary, North Carolina on Tuesday 27th March.

Southend-born Carter-Vickers, 20, who qualifies for the US via his father, has previously won one senior international cap.

US head coach Dave Sarachan has named a squad with an average of 23 years and 84 days with 17 of those selected 24 or younger.

"This match once again represents an opportunity for some new faces," he said.

"The roster has an average age under 24, so for the most part this is a group of younger players that we feel have a future with the national team along with some familiar names.

"The timing is right to give these guys international exposure, and they will certainly be tested against a strong and experienced Paraguayan team.”

US: Alex Bono (Toronto FC), Bill Hamid (Midtjylland), Zack Steffen (Columbus Crew), Cameron Carter-Vickers (Ipswich Town), Eric Lichaj (Nottingham Forest), Matt Miazga (Vitesse), Shaq Moore (Levante), Erik Palmer-Brown (Kortrijk), Antonee Robinson (Bolton Wanderers), Jorge Villafaña (Santos Laguna), DeAndre Yedlin (Newcastle United), Tyler Adams (New York Red Bulls), Marky Delgado (Toronto FC), Weston McKennie (Schalke), Darlington Nagbe (Atlanta United), Cristian Roldan (Seattle Sounders), Kenny Saief (Anderlecht), Wil Trapp (Columbus Crew), Tim Weah (Paris Saint-Germain), Andrija Novakovich (Telstar), Rubio Rubin (Club Tijuana), Bobby Wood (Hamburg).
