Nydam Withdraws From England U19s - Ipswich Town News

Blues midfielder Tristan Nydam has been forced to withdraw from the England U19s squad due to injury. The 18-year-old picked up a knock in the 3-0 home defeat to Hull City last week.

Nydam, who has previously been capped once at U19 level, was named in the party which has travelled to Macedonia for their European Championships elite qualifying mini-group along with Blues team-mate Flynn Downes, 19, who is currently on loan at Luton.

Downes and the rest of the squad play their first game against Hungary on Wednesday, take on Latvia three days later and the hosts on Tuesday 27th March.

The European Championship finals are in Finland in July. If they make it, England will be defending the title they won in Georgia last summer, a team which featured Blues midfielder Andre Dozzell, who still qualifies for the U19s but is out injured, almost certainly for the whole season.
