Jack Lankester was on target as Town’s U23s were beaten 2-1 by Watford at London Colney earlier this afternoon.
Academy scholar Lankester, who is currently on loan with Bury Town but still able to play for the Blues’ underage teams, swiftly equalised Dion Pereira’s first-half opener for the home side but Dennon Lewis won it for the Hornets with 13 minutes remaining.
Meanwhile, Town’s U18s bounced back from a weekend 4-1 hammering at Crewe, in which trialist Ryley Scott scored the Blues' goal, to win 4-0 at Bristol City on Tuesday. Tom Hughes scored twice and Luca Vega and Zak Brown once each.
