Everton Bid Rejected - Ipswich Town News

Reports in Liverpool claim that Town have turned down a £5 million cash-plus-player offer from Everton for striker Marcus Stewart. David Moyes was widely reported at the weekend to be ready to attempt to bring Stewart to Goodison Park.

Today's reports say that Everton made an enquiry regarding the 30-year-old striker and Town indicated that Stewart might be available at the right price.

However, Everton's idea of cash and one or more Goodison reject has been turned down by the Blues. If Stewart is going to go then Town want cash and are not interested in player swaps.

With money tight, it now seems highly unlikely that Everton will pursue their interest any further.

Stewart is understood to be unhappy at Portman Road after being left on the bench in the latter stages of the season.

The ex-Huddersfield man remains tight-lipped regarding an end of season meeting with George Burley, while he has been strongly linked with Sunderland.

West Bromwich Albion have also been reported to have shown an interest in the Bristolian.
