Karic in Action - Ipswich Town News
Town's misfit Slovenian Amir Karic will be in World Cup action on Saturday against South Africa (KO 7.30am). Karic's side need a win to realistically stand a chance of progressing to the second phase of the tournament.
Slovenia have had a difficult few days since losing 3-1 to Spain in their opening match. Star player Zlatko Zahovic abused manager Srecko Katanec with the upshot that the manager has said he'll resign after the World Cup and the player has been sent home.
Ahead of the South Africa game Katenec said: "South Africa is a very good team. We saw the match between Paraguay and South Africa and were convinced of South Africa's quality.
"Weather conditions will be very demanding due to high temperature and high level of humidity.
"The match against South Africa is a decisive one for us. It will be very important to score first and that's what we'll try to do."
