U18s Lose at Leeds - Ipswich Town News

Town’s U18s were beaten 3-0 by Leeds United at their Thorp Arch training ground earlier this afternoon.

First-half goals from Theo Hudson, Nohan Kenneh and Niall Huggins saw the Whites to victory over Alan Lee’s side.

The Blues' youngsters next face Huddersfield Town at Playford Road on Saturday morning (KO 11am), the U23s having lost 2-1 away to the Terriers yesterday.

Meanwhile, the Blues, Leeds, Norwich and Sunderland are all said to have been keeping tabs on Shrewsbury midfielder Jon Nolan, who has netted nine times this season, his first campaign for the third-placed Shropshire side, League One's surprise package.

The 25-year-old, who is contracted to the Shrews for two more years, has previously spent time with Stockport, Lincoln, Wrexham (loan), Grimsby and Chesterfield.

While Town might well have watched Nolan, who might be targeted in the summer will be down to the incoming manager and what’s likely to be a new scouting set-up with director of football Dave Bowman, effectively the Blues’ chief scout, expected to join former boss Mick McCarthy when he finds a new club.
