Redknapp Keen on Town Job - Ipswich Town News

Much-travelled veteran boss Harry Redknapp has expressed his interest in the Town job.

The 71-year-old, who is known to be a friend of Marcus Evans and is understood to have been one of those the Blues owner took advice from when appointing previous bosses, said he’d be keen on The Alan Brazil Sports Breakfast on talkSPORT and urged Evans to call him.

"It’s a real good club and I know the owner Marcus Evans. He’s got my number and I’m here Marcus!” he said.

How serious Redknapp might be about taking on the Town job or another management role elsewhere remains to be seen having hinted at retirement after leaving Birmingham in September last year.

Either way, despite the connection with Evans, Redknapp, whose other previous clubs include the Hammers, Tottenham, Portsmouth (twice) , Southampton, QPR and AFC Bournemouth as well as the Jordanian national team, seems highly unlikely to be a leading contender to take over at Town. More on the current speculation regarding the Blues manager's job here.
