Leicester in for Jim? - Ipswich Town News
Leicester City have emerged as favourites for the signature of Town midfielder Jim Magilton. The Northern Irish international has been told he can leave on a free transfer if an offer comes along.
Magilton still has one year left on his contract at Portman Road but might find a longer term deal with the Foxes attractive.
After being a key man for Town since joining from Sheffield Wednesday in 1999 for £682,500, 33-year-old Magilton dropped back in the pecking order at Town and he looks likely to have to make a move in order to get first team football.
Leicester are looking to add central midfielders to their squad with Robbie Savage moving to Birmingham and Muzzy Izzet looking set to leave over the summer.
