Town keeper Matteo Sereni says he wants to return to Italy. Sereni, signed last summer from Sampdoria, is being linked with Brescia, however they deny any interest in the 27-year-old.
Sereni, currently in Japan watching the World Cup, told an Italian newspaper: "I want to go back to Italy.
"To do that I'm willing to earn less money than now but hopefully Ipswich will ask less money."
According to usually reliable sources, Sereni is earning ÂŁ22,000 a week at Portman Road and is the club's highest paid player. The Blues would certainly be pleased to see the back of his wages, even if many fans see him as a superior goalkeeper to rival Andy Marshall.
Italian club Brescia have denied a report in a newspaper linking them with Sereni, a spokesperson saying: "We don't need another goalkeeper as we already have three and are very satisfied with them."
Earlier this summer Parma manager Arrigo Sacchi said he was interested in the Town keeper.
