Crowe Wins Cap as England U17s Beat Italy - Ipswich Town News

Academy right-back Dylan Crowe won his eighth England U17s cap as a half-time sub as the Young Lions came from behind to beat Italy 2-1 at Walsall’s Bescot Stadium in their second group game at the European Championships.

Alessio Riccardi put the Italians ahead on 14 but Nottingham Forest's Arvin Appiah levelled on 64 and Manchester City’s Tommy Doyle netted the winner from the penalty spot five minutes later.

Crowe, 16, who has just completed his first season as a full-time scholar at Playford Road, played the first 58 minutes of Saturday’s 2-1 opening match victory over Israel. He has previously won caps at U15 and U16 levels.

The England youngsters face Switzerland at Rotherham’s New York Stadium in their final group game next Thursday and go into the match top of the table (ITV4 6.45pm).
