Midfielder Luke Hyam has revealed he has been released by the Blues.
The 26-year-old academy product, who recently returned to action after a frustrating couple of injury-hit seasons, is out of contract this summer with Town evidently not having taken up their option to keep him for a further year.
"My time at Ipswich Town has come to an end. After 15 years, I want to say a massive thanks to all the players and staff, past and present who have been part of my journey,” the former Northgate High School pupil posted on Instagram.
"I’ve been very fortunate and privileged to play for the team I supported as a child and to achieve all my goals I set out over the years.
"I’m looking forward to the next chapter in my career. I wish all the boys the very best for the following season.”
Hyam made 118 starts and 28 sub appearances for his hometown club, scoring three goals. He spent a month on loan at Rotherham during 2015/16, making two starts and three sub appearances.
Coincidentally, he made his debut as a starter on the opening day of the 2010/11 season in the Blues’ 3-1 win at Middlesbrough and played his last game for Town as a 77th minute sub during Sunday’s final game of the season 2-2 draw with the Teessiders.
