Crowe Wins Cap as England U17s Progress to Quarter-Finals - Ipswich Town News

Academy right-back Dylan Crowe played the full 80 minutes and won his ninth England U17s cap as the Young Lions were beaten 1-0 by Switzerland at Rotherham’s New York Stadium on Thursday evening but still progressed to the quarter-finals of the European Championships.

Felix Mambimbi scored the game’s only goal in first-half injury time but the England youngsters, who had beaten both Israel and Italy 2-1 in their previous two matches, pipped the Swiss to second place in the group on goal difference behind Italy.

England will face Norway at Burton Albion’s Pirelli Stadium in their quarter-final tie on Sunday evening (KO 6pm).

Crowe, 17, who has just completed his first season as a full-time scholar at Playford Road, has previously won caps at U15 and U16 levels.
