Evans Remains 167th in Rich List - Ipswich Town News
Town owner Marcus Evans remains the joint-167th richest person in the UK with his wealth having increased to £800 million, according to the 2018 Sunday Times Rich List.
In the two previous years Evans’s wealth was estimated to be £765 million in the annual Rich List, which is based on "identifiable wealth"; land, property, publicly-quoted shares and other assets, but not bank accounts to which they don’t have access.
As TWTD reported in May last year, Evans sold his World Productions TV company for around £30-£40 million.
Further to that, according to The Sunday Times: "Profits at his £550 million firm nudged £32 million and while his property operation has slipped, his Championship football team Ipswich Town and his conference business have made up for it.”
The Blues made a loss of £4.3 million in the year to June 2017, so presumably they are suggesting the value of the club has increased during the last year.
Town sources have previously dismissed Rich List estimates of Evans’s wealth as highly speculative.

Blackburn Rovers 1-0 Ipswich Town - Match AbandonedTown look set to face a return trip to Blackburn Rovers later in the season after this afternoon’s game was abandoned after 80 minutes due to a waterlogged pitch with the home side 1-0 up and with the Blues down to 10 men. Jacob Greaves was shown a straight red card four minutes after the break for hauling down Yuki Ohashi, then Rovers skipper Todd Cantwell netted a penalty on 59, but the heavy rain had made the game increasingly farcical the longer it progressed and in the 80th minute referee Stephen Martin took the players off and then 25 minutes later abandoned it entirely.
