Nydam and Downes at England U19s Training Camp - Ipswich Town News

Blues duo Tristan Nydam and Flynn Downes will spend this week at an England U19s training camp in Spain.

The 24-man party will be at La Manga from today until Friday as they prepare for the European Championships which take place in Finland in July, defending the title the Young Lions won last summer in Georgia when another Blues midfielder, Andre Dozzell, was a key man in the side.

Downes, 19, who has won five caps at U19 level, was in the squad when it was initially named last month, while Nydam, 18, who has played once for the U19s, was on standby but has now been added to the travelling party.

The draw for the finals will take place in Finland on Wednesday 30th May when the eight finalists - England, Finland, France, Italy, Norway, Portugal, Turkey, Ukraine - will be drawn into two groups of four.

Dozzell, 19 earlier this month, remains eligible for the U19s but is still on his way back from from the cruciate knee ligament injury he suffered on the opening day of the season.
