Free PDP Trials at Portman Road - Ipswich Town News

The academy’s Player Development Programme (PDP) is holding a free two-day open trial at Portman Road ahead of the 2018/19 season.

The PDP is a fee-paying coaching programme of two blocks of 15 weeks' coaching from September to January and February to May. Further details can be found here.

There are eight different centres across Suffolk and north east Essex: Portman Road, Walsham-le-Willows, Haverhill, Sudbury, Lowestoft, Tiptree, Newmarket and Bury St Edmunds.

The trials, on the dates below, will only be held at Portman Road but the successful trialists can be offered places closer to home.

Thursday 28th June 2018 for outfield players only

"6 to 7pm: U6 (year 1); U7 (year 2); U8 (year 3); U9 (year 4).
"7 to 8pm: U10 (year 5); U11 (year 6); U12 (year 7)"8 to 9pm: U13 (year 8); U14 (year 9); U15 (year 10).

Friday 29th June 2018 for goalkeepers only

"6 to 7pm: U6 (year 1); U7 (year 2); U8 (year 3); U9 (year 4); U10 (year 5); U11 (year 6).
"7 to 8pm: U12 (year 7); U13 (year 8); U14 (year 9); U15 (year 10).

To apply for a trial email the academy’s elite/PDP administrator and holiday course coordinator Dave Webb via dave.webb@itfc.co.uk with the following information:

Full name, date of birth/school year, date/time of trial chosen, preferred position, current team(s), any professional club involvement, parental contact details, any medical conditions.

No confirmation reply will be sent, sending an email will secure a trial on the chosen date time, although spaces are limited.

On the day of the trial report to Gate 1, Sir Alf Ramsey Way, Ipswich IP1 2DA 15 minutes prior to the start time for registration.

Players should wear astro boots or moulded sole football boots, shin pads, gloves if goalkeepers, bring a drink and dress appropriately for the weather conditions. The outcome of the trial will be emailed no later than one week from the trial date.
