Town defender Jonas Knudsen was an unused sub as Denmark drew 0-0 with Sweden in Stockholm in their final friendly before their 23-man squad for the World Cup in Russia is announced on Monday.
Jens Stryger Larsen started in the 25-year-old’s preferred left-back slot despite the Udinese man primarily being a right-sided player.
However, Knudsen, who was given the number five shirt for the match, was the only out-and-out left-back in the 27-man preliminary squad which assembled for a training camp in Helsingør and seems likely to be included manager Ã…ge Hareide’s reduced final travelling party.
In March, Knudsen won his third full international cap in a 0-0 friendly draw with Chile, his first since joining Town in the summer of 2015.
Denmark, who have another friendly at home to Mexico next Saturday, will play Peru, Australia and France in the group stages of the finals.
Blues keeper Bartosz Bialkowski joined up with a 32-man Poland party for a training camp in Arlamow on Tuesday. The final Polish squad is also set to be named on Monday.
