Bialkowski Not Expected to Feature in Penultimate Poland Friendly - Ipswich Town News

Blues keeper Bartosz Bialkowski isn’t expected to feature when Poland take on Chile in their penultimate pre-World Cup finals friendly in PoznaÅ„ this evening.

The 30-year-old was named in the Polish 23 for Russia on Monday but is viewed very much as the third-choice glovesman behind Lukasz Fabianski (Swansea) and Wojciech Szczesny (Juventus) and manager Adam Nawalka is believed to be fielding what he sees as his strongest team against the Chileans.

Bialkowski, who said earlier in the week that making the squad was "a proud moment”, is more likely to play some part during Tuesday’s final friendly against Lithuania in Warsaw.

The Poles have been drawn in World Cup Group H along with Senegal, Colombia and Japan.

Town defender Jonas Knudsen was named in Denmark’s 23 for Russia on Sunday and his squad play their final friendly before travelling against Mexico at the Brøndby Stadion on Saturday evening.
