Knudsen Could Win Fourth Danish Cap in Final Friendly - Ipswich Town News

Blues defender Jonas Knudsen could win his fourth full cap this evening when Denmark face Mexico in their final pre-World Cup friendly at the Brøndby Stadion. On Sunday, Knudsen, 25, was named in Denmark’s 23 for Russia.

In March, Knudsen won his third full cap and made his first international start in a 0-0 friendly draw with Chile, his first Denmark appearance since joining Town in the summer of 2015.

The left-sided full-back or centre-half's two previous caps, both from the bench, were won in 2014 while with Esbjerg fB.

The Danes will take on Peru, Australia and France in the group stages of the finals.

Meanwhile, Town keeper Bartosz Bialkowski was an unused sub as Poland drew 2-2 with Chile in their penultimate friendly before they travel to Russia in Poznan last night.

Wojciech Szczesny of Juventus started in goal before being replaced by Swansea’s Lukasz Fabianski at half-time.

Bialkowski, very much the third choice in the squad, wasn’t expected to feature against the Chileans but could play some part during Tuesday’s final friendly against Lithuania in Warsaw.

Elsewhere, former Blues striker Frank Nouble, 26, has joined League Two Colchester United on a two-year deal having been out of contract at Newport County.
