Town Confirm West Ham Friendly - Ipswich Town News
Town have confirmed that West Ham will be the Blues’ opponents in their home friendly on Saturday 28th July, as previously revealed by TWTD, a game which will be new boss Paul Hurst’s first at Portman Road (KO 3pm).
Town and the Hammers most recently met in pre-season in 2014, also in Suffolk, when the game ended in a 0-0 draw.
West Ham have been given the whole of the Cobbold Stand upper tier for the match, while the upper tiers of the Sir Bobby Robson Stand and the Sir Alf Ramsey Stand will not be open.
Ticket prices will be £10 for adults, £5 for under-23s and senior citizens, £3 for under-19s and £1 for under-12s.
The Blues are still finalising their pre-season plans with new boss Hurst discussing an overseas training camp with owner Marcus Evans. The now-familiar Ireland trip previously pencilled in remains an option, which would see a friendly take place at Drogheda United, but Hurst is understood to prefer a warmer alternative.
Hurst took his Shrewsbury squad to Portugal last year but despite having been considered that's not the destination currently being looked at. If the Blues do end up confirming that trip then there won't be a formal friendly although there may be a behind-closed-doors match.
