England-Tunisia With Osman and Milton Competition Winners - Ipswich Town News

The competition to win two pairs of tickets to watch next Monday’s England-Tunisia World Cup clash at Greshams in Tuddenham Road where Russell Osman and Simon Milton will be providing live punditry is now closed.

The winners of the competition, who were picked at random from those who emailed to tell us that Australia were the opponents when Osman made his England debut in May 1980 were James Hacker and Jordan Parker.

Greshams will be showing all England’s group matches on a six-metre by four-metre screen in their Willow Suite.

Tickets, which are available here, are £10 for each game, including a free pint and a burger or hot dog at half-time, or £25 for all three.

VIP tables of 10 are available at £250 per game, or £600 for all three, including steak and chips, free pints and front row viewing.

Milton, who has been involved in numerous events at Greshams over the years, including the recent Evening With Terry Butcher, outlined how the World Cup evenings will work.

"We’ll watch the games, we’ll listen to the TV analysts as well, but it will be nice leading up to the game for Russell to talk us through the squad, talk us through the team, talk us through what he thinks about the game and what other people think about the game,” he said.

"We’ll watch the game, we’ll have another chat at half-time and we’ll have a Q and A session at the end. I think it puts on a brilliant evening for people.

"We’ll take questions from the floor after the game, win, lose or draw. The place is brilliant, it’s got the biggest screen in Suffolk.”

Milton says Osman, an 11-times-capped international and an experienced pundit with the likes of Eurosport, will be the one providing the analysis with his input more as the host.

"I won’t be analysing much, Russell’s the analyser, he’s the England man,” he added. "He works in the media, I don’t work in the media.

"I’ll lead Russell into the questions, of course we’ll have opinions, we’ll have opinions from the floor.

"Hopefully it’ll be a really good atmosphere, great telly, a great sound system and we can enjoy England getting through the group stages.

"And then once you get through the group stages, we’ve both looked at it and we’ll continue.”

Milton, who these days is a director of the Futurestars charity having left Town after 30 years last summer, says he has changed his plans just in case England make the final.

"The final is on Sunday 15th July. The reason I know that so well is that my flight to Ghana could have ruined that day for me but we’ve put it back,” he said.

"I now fly out at 11.30 on the Sunday evening, so I can watch the game and flight back overnight. Titus Bramble is flying with me as well.

"I’m kidding myself really, but can you imagine being in the air on a plane when England won the World Cup? Imagine that!”

Following the Tunisia match Gareth Southgate’s side take on Panama on Sunday 24th June and then Belgium four days later. We’ll be running further competitions to win tickets to watch those games at Greshams.
