Bialkowski's Poland Start World Cup Campaign - Ipswich Town News

Blues keeper Bartosz Bialkowski’s Poland get their World Cup under way this afternoon when they face Senegal at the Spartak Stadium in Moscow in their opening Group H match (ITV from 3.25pm, KO 4pm).

Once-capped Bialkowski, 30, is unlikely to play with Juventus number one Wojciech Szczesny expected to start and Swansea’s Lukasz Fabianski the second choice keeper in the 23-man squad.

The Town glovesman says manager Adam Nawalka's attention to detail goes above and beyond what might be expected.

"Nawalka is very open,” Bialkowski told The Sun. "When he called me for the first time, we talked for a bit and he asked me for my wife’s number - I’m not sure why!

"I found out her just wanted to talk to her when he was in Ipswich watching me. He wanted to call and meet her and my kids as well.

"That shows how important it is for him to get to know not just the players but the families, too.

"He looks into every detail, it’s crazy. He cares about everything; training, meals, everything has to be done at 100 per cent.”
