Venus Likely to Sign - Ipswich Town News
Town defender Mark Venus is reported to be on the verge of signing a new one-year deal at the club. Venus, who was Town's Player of the Year last season, has taken his time to think over George Burley's offer of another contract.
The former Leicester player says he is looking forward to meeting up with an old team-mate as well as returning to his old club when the Blues meet the Foxes in their first home League game of the season: "It will be nice if James Scowcroft is playing when Leicester come here and of course it's special for me as I was once with them.
"It will be a testing start for us and hopefully we'll be well up for it."
The Leicester game is likely to move to Sunday August 18th due to Town's UEFA Cup commitments on the previous Thursday.
