Posh Chairman Reveals Town Contact - Ipswich Town News
Peterborough United chairman Darragh MacAnthony has revealed that Blues owner Marcus Evans recently contacted Posh director of football Barry Fry.
MacAnthony, responding to a Town fan’s question regarding possible Blues interest in any of his players on Twitter, said winger Marcus Maddison, who is understood to be interesting several Championship clubs, wasn’t the subject of the call.
In May, Town were among three Championship sides said to be keen on another Peterborough wideman, Gwion Edwards (pictured above).
In an earlier tweet, MacAnthony said he had rebuffed interest in Edwards from a Championship club, who he confirmed weren’t Sheffield United without giving any further clues regarding the identity of the suitor.
Nottingham Forest and Bristol City were the other clubs previously said to be interested in the 25-year-old former Wales U21 international, who has a year left on his contract at London Road.
New Town manager Paul Hurst has said he is looking to add wingers to a squad which he feels is "slightly unbalanced".
