Knudsen's Denmark Reach World Cup Last 16 - Ipswich Town News
Blues full-back Jonas Knudsen’s Denmark secured a place in the last 16 at the World Cup following a dull 0-0 draw with France at the Luzhniki Stadium in Moscow.
Knudsen was again an unused sub and the 25-year-old is still to add to his three full international caps at the finals.
With Australia, who needed to win to stand a chance of qualifying for the next stage, losing 2-0 to Peru, the French and the Danes played out the tournament’s first goalless draw which saw them both through to the knockout phase, finishing first and second in Group C.
The Danes will face Croatia, the winners of Group D, in Nizhny Novgorod on Sunday.

Blackburn Rovers 1-0 Ipswich Town - Match AbandonedTown look set to face a return trip to Blackburn Rovers later in the season after this afternoon’s game was abandoned after 80 minutes due to a waterlogged pitch with the home side 1-0 up and with the Blues down to 10 men. Jacob Greaves was shown a straight red card four minutes after the break for hauling down Yuki Ohashi, then Rovers skipper Todd Cantwell netted a penalty on 59, but the heavy rain had made the game increasingly farcical the longer it progressed and in the 80th minute referee Stephen Martin took the players off and then 25 minutes later abandoned it entirely.
