Bristol City Webster Link Revived - Ipswich Town News

Bristol City are again being linked with a move for Blues central defender Adam Webster.

According to HITC Sport, Robins boss Lee Johnson sees Webster, 23, as a replacement for Aden Flint, who is close to joining Middlesbrough.

The story is a revival of a report which first appeared in January when Flint was previously tipped to leave Ashton Gate. At the time the Robins were said to be ready to offer the Blues £4 million, while one source following on from today's initial report values Webster at a wholly unrealistic £2 million.

Webster is contracted to Town until the summer of 2019 but with the Blues having an option to keep him for a further season.

Highly-rated Webster has been in and out of the Town side since signing from Portsmouth in the summer of 2016 due to a succession of injuries and the Blues are unlikely to be in a rush to sell the former England U18 and U19 international, who is viewed as someone whose value is likely to increase substantially once he has had a long run in the team and has gained more Championship experience.
