Blanchfield Joins Daggers - Ipswich Town News

Released Blues midfielder James Blanchfield has joined Vanarama National League Dagenham and Redbridge on a one-year deal.

The 20-year-old left Town at the end of last season having been unable to break into the first team after joining the academy from Arsenal in 2014.

A brief spell on loan at Aldershot after Christmas last year was curtailed by a knock, the midfielder having made only one sub appearance for the Shots.

"I have been having talks for the past couple of weeks and to finally get everything done I am over the moon and can’t wait to get started and show the fans and the manager what I am capable of,” the Southend-born schemer told the Daggers official site.

"When the opportunity first came up, my dad told me what a great manager Peter [Taylor] is and how lucky I am to get the opportunity to play under him, so I can’t wait to start learning from him."
