Birmingham Eyeing Bialkowski - Ipswich Town News

Blues keeper Bartosz Bialkowski is reported to be on Birmingham City’s list of potential summer recruits.

Former Town loanee David Stockdale and Tomasz Kuszczak have been told they can leave St Andrew’s and have not travelled with the squad to their pre-season training camp in Austria.

According to the Birmingham Mail, Bialkowski, who celebrated his 31st birthday today, is among the possible replacement keepers being considered by Midlanders’ manager Garry Monk.

Summer interest in Bialkowski has been widely expected with the Polish international, who is currently away having been given time off following the World Cup, after being targeted by Crystal Palace in January.

Bialkowski is contracted to the Blues until next summer, the club having exercised the option for a further year on his contract at the end of last season.

But the former Southampton and Notts County man is still to put pen to paper on the new deal ex-boss Mick McCarthy said had been agreed in January, which means Town owner Marcus Evans may be prepared to accept offers to prevent one of the club’s most highly-prized assets from leaving on a free transfer next summer.

Speaking in April, Bialkowski said his agent was continuing to talk to Evans regarding the new terms.

Earlier today, Scottish reports linked with the Blues with Wes Foderingham, who is set to depart Rangers this summer, and it is believed Town have made preliminary contact regarding the 27-year-old, who is viewed as a possible replacement should Bialkowski move on.
