Blackpool central defender Curtis Tilt, the subject of two Blues offers, is not believed to be on Rangers' summer wish-list despite the Scottish Premiership giants having run the rule over the 26-year-old.
Those Town bids, the second an offer of £550,000, have been rebuffed with the Seasiders targeting £1 million for Tilt.
We understand the Blues remain interested in the ex-Wrexham defender but Blackpool are believed to be in no immediate hurry to negotiate a deal and are hoping to receive further interest from elsewhere.
Reading, QPR and Portsmouth are among the other clubs also believed to have been eyeing the left-sided centre-half, who has a year left on his contract at Bloomfield Road.
Town may be willing to increase their offer, while Blackpool would appear likely to have to drop their asking price the closer it gets to the end of the transfer window if no other seriously interested parties emerge.
Rangers had been thought to be among the potential bidders having watched Tilt in action in a recent friendly, however, according to the Press Association he is well down their list of targets with Millwall’s Jake Cooper, for whom they have already made three offers, at the top.
Walsall-born Tilt played in non-league for Halesowen Town, Hednesford Town, AFC Telford Town, Wrexham and Forest Green Rovers (loan) before joining Blackpool last summer.
He made 45 starts for the League One side in 2017/18, his first EFL campaign, scoring once and picking up three Seasiders’ player of the season gongs.
New Blues manager Paul Hurst, who is believed to have been interested in Tilt since his time as Shrewsbury boss, said last week he is in the market for two more central defenders with Adam Webster having departed for Bristol City.
Meanwhile, Hurst says a third keeper isn't on his list of summer targets with Harry Wright, 19, the son of former Blue Richard, having impressed him during pre-season.
