Sir Bobby in Suffolk - Ipswich Town News
Former Town manager Sir Bobby Robson has been back in Ipswich today, paying a visit to the Oncology Department at Ipswich Hospital and checking up on how the Bobby Robson Jubilee Appeal is going.
Robson, knighted at the weekend in the Queen's Birthday Honours, underwent surgery on a cancerous tumour in his colon in 1992 and had a malignant melanoma removed in 1995.
The Bobby Robson Jubilee Appeal was set up by the Ipswich League of Friends to raise £55,000 for oral cancer surgical equipment. So far it has raised £5,000.
An interview with Robson, talking about the World Cup, his knighthood and cancer, will be broadcast on tonight's Anglia News (6pm).
