Meanwhile, Town’s U18s were beaten 2-1 by Cambridge United in a friendly at Playford Road yesterday. Tom Hughes netted the Blues’ goal from the penalty spot in the second half.
We understand Ryley Scott, who has been on trial with the academy since the end of last season, is signing as a second-year scholar today, his 17th birthday.
The central midfielder was previously with West Ham's academy set-up having joined the Hammers from Ryan FC.
