Photos: Open Day Whets Hurst's Appetite for Season Ahead - Ipswich Town News
Town boss Paul Hurst felt today’s Open Day at Portman Road whetted his appetite for the season ahead having spent little time at the club’s ground since taking over as boss at the start of last month.
Around 5,200 supporters attended the annual event with 2,200 getting selfies and autographs with the players at a signing session before Hurst and his staff put them through their paces in a training session on the pitch.
"We’re based at the training ground, so I haven’t had too much need or time to be back down here,” Hurst admitted.
"Seeing the stadium again and with part of the ground full, it certainly whets the appetite and I’m really looking forward to the game on Saturday as well when there’ll be more in.
"And then the icing on the cake, the week after and opening the season at home when there’ll be more fans in and we have really got to try and do everything we can to start the season well.”
