Dyer Relishing Challenge of U18s Coaching Role - Ipswich Town News

Kieron Dyer says stepping up to his new role coaching the U18s is a great opportunity for him to progress and that he is relishing the challenge.

Dyer, 39, has taken over as the full-time U18s assistant manager working with Adem Atay, the pair having been in charge of the U16s last season.

"I’m enjoying being involved in the development of the young players here,” former England international Dyer told the club site.

"I’ve worked with the U16s where it is all about improving as a player more than worrying about results, but at U18 level there is still that element but you are looking at the competitive side as well.

"I’m here to help the boys. I’ve been where they are. I can relate to them and hopefully I can take what I have gained during my career and pass that on to the academy players here.

"It’s a great opportunity for me to progress as a coach as well and I’m relishing the challenge.”
