Town Move on to Bogle as Accrington Price Blues Out of Jackson Chase - Ipswich Town News

Accrington Stanley have priced Town out of the chase for Kayden Jackson having put a £2.5 million valuation on the striker’s head, TWTD understands. The Blues have now turned their attention to Cardiff’s Omar Bogle, who we can confirm as per reports earlier this morning is in Town’s sights to come in on loan.

As previously revealed, the Blues offered Stanley £1.5 million for Jackson, who is also understood to be interesting a number of other Championship clubs, including QPR.

HITC Sport are reporting that Town subsequently upped that bid to £1.75 million but it was still refused and a frustrated Jackson has now handed in a transfer request.

However, this claim has subsequently been dismissed by Accrington chairman Andy Holt.

No he hasn’t. Makes no matter, I’ve put a sell request in. If some one pays the fair price he can go with my blessing.
Only a matter of time for him either way. Best striker around. https://t.co/izqM3rNw12– Andyh (@AndyhHolt) August 3, 2018

All this bollocks about transfers.

It’s simple,

If someone offers £100m for a player and that player doesn’t want to go, there’s no deal. I accept that, though I’d prefer £100m.

Conversely

If a player gets offered big money but a bidder doesn’t satisfy the clubs needs...– Andyh (@AndyhHolt) August 3, 2018

The Blues are unwilling to pay anything approaching the League One club’s asking price for 24-year-old Jackson and have now moved on to Bogle with reports regarding a loan approach emerging this morning.

Town are keen to add another striker to their squad with Martyn Waghorn appearing all but certain to move on before the transfer deadline next Thursday with Derby or Middlesbrough his most likely destination, while a number of other Championship clubs including Sheffield United are also interested.

Blues sources have played down last night’s link with former loanee Jordan Graham, while talks are continuing between Town and Shrewsbury regarding the signings of Toto Nsiala and Jon Nolan, although with the moves appearing unlikely to go ahead before the weekend.

Fulham midfielder Tayo Edun is expected at Portman Road today to complete the formalities relating to his season-long loan move.

Town have until 12 noon to register players in time for them to feature against Blackburn tomorrow. The Edun switch is expected to comfortably meet that deadline.
