Bolton Boss Confirms Garner Interest as Trotters Lodge Bids - Ipswich Town News

Bolton manager Phil Parkinson has confirmed his interest in Joe Garner with the Trotters having made six-figure offers for two frontmen, one of them reportedly the Blues striker.

"He’s a player I’ve admired since his time at Preston, he’s one of a number of players we’re looking at,” the former Colchester boss said ahead of the Trotters' opening game at West Brom.

Garner has been on Bolton's radar for much of the summer with reports earlier in the week claiming they were set to step up their pursuit.

The Blackburn-born frontman was initially linked with Bolton in late June when it was said they were willing to pay £500,000 for his services with the former Preston man believed to be keen on a return to the North-West.

Wanderers say they have put two six-figure bids in for strikers. Joe Garner is definitely one of them. #bwfc– Marc Iles (@MarcIles) August 3, 2018
