Hurst Not Expecting More Signings Today But One Further Deal Still Possible - Ipswich Town News

Boss Paul Hurst said he wasn’t expecting any further additions at his pre-match press conference, however, TWTD understands it is possible that Town could add one more player to the squad before the 5pm deadline.

"I don’t think so, I certainly don’t expect anything,” Hurst said when asked whether there might be any more signings today.

"It’s not the weather for people to be stood out in the rain waiting for signings to come in, so I don’t think we’ll have any of that.

"But I’m pleased with what we have done. I think last week I said I’d probably done more business than I envisaged doing and with three signings this week to add to that, there have been quite a few changes.

"From my point of view, that needed to happen, we needed to freshen things up. That’s not a slight on the players that were here. It’s to add to the mix, get a bit of a new feel in, hopefully a little bit of a buzz.

"There are a couple of deals that we’ve missed out on and I still think we’ll have to look into the loan market for one or two more players between now and September. But overall, as I said, I think it’s been a really productive time for us.”

The identity of the potential 10th signing of the summer is as yet unknown.
