Neither Town nor Newcastle will confirm that the Blues have turned down a bid of £4.2 million from Bobby Robson's club for Titus Bramble. Reports from the North-East yesterday claimed that Bobby Robson's club had finally made a bid after months of speculation.
David Sheepshanks, however, is still refusing to name names but says that he is currently in negotiation with a club over an unnamed member of the squad: "Discussions are ongoing regarding the player."
Previous Town deals have included sell-on clauses and top-ups to the fee upon appearances and, in the case of Kieron Dyer, England caps. It is likely that something along these lines might be in any deal agreed for Bramble.
