Town Maintaining Collins Interest - Ipswich Town News
Town reportedly remain interested in offering a deal to free agent former West Ham central defender James Collins. On Thursday, TWTD revealed that the 35-year-old was among the centre-halves being considered by the Blues ahead of Friday’s loan deadline.
Now, HITC Sport claim Town are ready to offer terms to the Wales international, who has also played for Cardiff City and Aston Villa. Reports elsewhere have previously linked Collins with a return to the Hammers.
Town added Everton centre-half Matthew Pennington to their squad on Friday but sent youngster Luke Woolfenden out on loan to Swindon.
Currently they have only three central defenders, Pennington, skipper Luke Chambers and Toto Nsiala, who is suspended for the next three games following his red card at Sheffield Wednesday.
Former Blues skipper Gareth McAuley, 38, is reportedly tipped to join Rangers having interested Town.
