Sereni Deal Today? - Ipswich Town News
Matteo Sereni says that his impending loan move to Brescia is the best thing for all concerned. The Town keeper's switch to the Serie A side is expected to be completed today although Sereni may back for pre-season training if there is a stumbling block.
The Italian keeper said: "I will be back for training on Thursday if nothing is sorted out but I expect I will be going back to Italy very soon on loan.
"It will be the best thing for everyone concerned. It is no good me staying at Ipswich, they would like me leave, so it is right for me, the club and the Italian team.
"Just as money is tight in England, so it is in Italy, and not many teams can afford to pay the transfer fee for me, so a loan arrangement to begin with would work well."
Yesterday Brescia president Luigi Corioni said that the only element of the move still to be settled was Sereni's personal terms. With the keeper so keen to go, and already saying he'd take a cut in wages to move back to Italy, the deal looks almost certain to progress without a hitch.
