Chalobah in U20s Squad as Dozzell and Downes Join in Training - Ipswich Town News
Blues loanee Trevoh Chalobah has been named in the England U20s squad for two U20s Elite League matches during the international break, while Andre Dozzell and Flynn Downes will join up to train but won't be involved in the matches.
The England youngsters, who are coached by Paul Simpson, a Town trialist in his playing days, take on Italy at AFC Fylde on Thursday 11th October, then face the Czech Republic on Monday 15th October in Budejovice.
Chalobah, 19, whose brother Nathaniel was named in the full England squad earlier in the week, won his first England U20s cap last month in the 3-1 defeat by Holland in a friendly in Katwijk.
Dozzell and Downes, also both 19, are yet to play a game at U20 level but previously featured for the U19s.
Meanwhile, former Town assistant manager Terry Connor is to work with England U21s coach Aidy Boothroyd - the pair were spotted watching the Blues at Birmingham last week - as part of a new FA programme to ensure to BAME (Black Asian Minority Ethnic) coaching placements with England teams.
