Nash Linked With Manager's Job at St Patrick's Athletic - Ipswich Town News

Blues U23s coach Gerard Nash is reportedly a candidate for the vacant manager’s job at St Patrick’s Athletic back in his native Dublin.

According to The Irish Sun, Nash, 32, is one of six candidates to have spoken to the League of Ireland Premier League club, who are managerless following the departure of Liam Buckley.

Former Ireland international Kenny Cunningham, ex-Cork City and Drogheda United boss Paul Doolin and Harry Kenny, who had a spell as St Pat's assistant manager, are said to be among the other contenders for the role.

Nash, whose U23s side are currently top of the Professional Development League Two South table, has been in his current job at Town since 2016 having previously been in charge of the U18s.

The former central defender joined the Blues as a 15-year-old but saw his playing career end at 19 after only one sub appearance for Town and a handful of games on loan at Hartlepool and Southend following a succession of serious knee injuries.

He subsequently joined the coaching staff at Playford Road and has progressed through the ranks.
