Sheepy at Wimbledon - Ipswich Town News
Town chairman David Sheepshanks was at Wimbledon yesterday to watch Elena Baltacha, daughter of ex-Town star Sergei, win through to the third round of the tennis tournament.
Baltacha beat Amanda Coetzer 5-7 6-4 6-2 and now faces Elena Likhovtseva in the next round.
Sheepshanks played a pivotal role in bringing the Baltachas to Ipswich in 1989. Former USSR international Sergei is now an agent in Scotland.
