East Anglian Derby Most Streamed EFL Match - Ipswich Town News

Town’s East Anglian derby against Norwich City at Portman Road in September is the most streamed match since the EFL began offering the facility at the start of the season.

From the beginning of this campaign supporters based in the UK have been able to stream some, mainly midweek, EFL games for £10.

Overall, according to BBC Online, there have been 50,000 streams in the UK and Ireland this season plus a further 80,000 from overseas where more games - including most of those played on Saturday afternoons - are available.

The Town-Norwich derby, which ended 1-1, made up 2,500 of those UK streams and an additional 600 from overseas.

EFL chief executive Shaun Harvey says the service "is making money" with clubs signed up to the iFollowservice, such as Town, receiving between 70 per cent and 80 per cent of revenues.

However, with evidence suggesting midweek crowds have been down since streaming was introduced, he added: ”We are committed to promoting live attendances at our games and any reductions will be looked at seriously as we value the service to the EFL as a whole.”
