U23s Draw at Charlton But Stay Top - Ipswich Town News

Town’s U23s allowed a two-goal lead to slip late on as they drew 2-2 with Charlton Athletic at their Sparrows Lane training ground this afternoon but stay top of the Professional Development League Two South table.

The Blues looked well set for all three points after goals from Jordan Roberts in the 65th minute and Kai Brown (pictured) nine minutes later.

However, Jamie Mascoll hit back for the Addicks within a minute of Brown’s goal, then Ben Dempsey found the top corner from 20 yards to level on 81.

The Blues' U23s are now unbeaten in nine, although with draws in their last two, and remain top with second-placed Millwall also drawing 2-2 this afternoon at QPR.

The U23s are in action again on Friday evening when the take on Bristol City at Bath City’s Twerton Park (KO 7pm).

U23s: Wright, Ronan (Dobra 71), C Smith, Marshall, Ndaba, Clements, McLoughlin, El Mizouni, McGavin, Roberts, K Brown. Unused: Vega, Egan, Hughes.
