Town Launch New Tickets for Schools Scheme - Ipswich Town News
Town have launched a new scheme which will see thousands of free match tickets given to local primary schools.
As part of the new initiative a School of the Day - contacted directly by the club - will receive a batch of adult and junior tickets for matches with parents or guardians attending along with children in order to take pressure off teachers.
The scheme will kick-off at the West Brom match a week on Friday - where the club are also running a general ticket promotion - with Whitton Community Primary School the first School of the Day. Midfielder Cole Skuse was at the school earlier today to distribute tickets.
"This sounds like a great idea and having met some of the youngsters and given them their tickets I really hope they'll enjoy coming to a match,” he told the club site.
"Football can bring people together and this is a good opportunity for them to come to what might be their first ever match and see what it's all about."
Dan Palfrey, Town’s PR and marketing and officer, added: "We want to encourage youngsters to come to Portman Road and gain that football bug.
"Hopefully they'll enjoy the experience with a parent or guardian and then maybe look to come back in the future.”
