El Mizouni Nets But Tunisia Olympic Team Defeated in Egypt - Ipswich Town News

Academy midfielder Idris El Mizouni netted his first international goal as Tunisia’s Olympic side were beaten 4-1 by Egypt in a friendly in Alexandria this afternoon.

El Mizouni put his team in front in the 17th minute but Mustapha Mohamed netted in the 25th and 29th minutes to give the home team a half-time lead, then Karim Iraki increased the margin on 90 and Nasser Mansi added the fourth in injury time.

The 18-year-old, who was winning his second cap for the U23s side, also had another goal ruled out for offside.

The teams meet again in another friendly on Sunday, a game organised at short notice after Algeria pulled out of a fixture with Egypt planned for Monday.

El Mizouni who was born in France but qualifies for Tunisia via his father, has made an impressive start to the season with Town in the U18s and U23s and TWTD understands he has been offered a professional contract.

The match was part of the squad’s preparations for the qualifiers for the African U23 Nations Cup, which will be held in Egypt in November 2019 and forms the qualifying process for the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games.
