Town Match Fans' Charity Ticket Donations - Ipswich Town News

Town are matching fans’ charity ticket donations for the West Brom game at Portman Road a week today.

Season ticket holder and one-time TWTD contributor Karl Fuller offered two tickets to the match to someone who wouldn't otherwise be able to afford to go via social media and other supporters quickly joined him in the gesture with a total of £2,400 ultimately being raised. The current players gave 20 tickets through skipper Luke Chambers, while an ex-Blue also donated. With Town's contribution, the number of tickets totals 860.

Those tickets are to be donated to local charities and schools, while the club will be offering the same number of seats to the four charities they are primarily working with this season: EACH, Suffolk Mind, Samaritans and The Elena Baltacha Foundation.

"I felt I wanted to do something, and it's been overwhelming," Fuller, 47, told BBC Suffolk.

"Tickets are cheaper that night anyway, so I reckoned others might pitch in, but it's been unbelievable."

The final total raised by #itfc fans for tickets to be donated to charities and schools for @Official_ITFC v @WBA on Friday 23 November 2018 is......a superb £2400.00.

Thank you so much to everyone who helped to grow my idea from helping two people to helping hundreds. ☺– Karl Fuller (@fullerflavour) November 15, 2018

Town spokesman Steve Pearce said: "It's a great idea from Karl that has obviously been well supported by other Town fans."

The Blues announced the launch of their new tickets for schools scheme yesterday, while prices for the West Brom game are reduced across the board with adult tickets £10.
