Quartet Could Win Caps - Ipswich Town News
Andre Dozzell, Trevoh Chalobah and Flynn Downes could all win caps for the England U20s this evening, while Jonas Knudsen may feature for Denmark's senior side.
Dozzell, Chalobah and Downes are with the Young Lions who face Germany in an U20s Elite League game at Colchester United’s JobServe Stadium.
New Town boss Paul Lambert, a former U’s manager, will return to his old club with his staff to watch the game.
Chalobah and Dozzell have both previously won one U20s cap, while Downes will pick up his first at that level if he is involved. Tayo Edun, who won seven U20s caps last season, was on standby for the match but wasn’t drafted into the party.
Town U16s coach Titus Bramble has been working with the squad alongside coach Paul Simpson this week.
Knudsen will win his sixth full cap if he involved in Denmark’s final UEFA Nations League game against the Republic of Ireland in Aarhus.
The Danes have already won Group B to secure promotion to Group A, while Ireland are bottom.
Earlier in the day, the Blues’ table-topping U23s are in home action against Crystal Palace, who are in second, two points behind Gerard Nash’s side, at Playford Road (KO 1pm).
