Harrison Plays 45 Minutes But U23s' Unbeaten Run Ends at Millwall - Ipswich Town News

Striker Ellis Harrison played the first 45 minutes as he returned to action after injury but Town’s top-of-the-table U23s were beaten 2-0 by Millwall at their Calmont Road training ground this afternoon, ending a 12-match undefeated run.

Jesse Debrah put the Lions, who were watched by their manager Neil Harris while Blues boss Paul Lambert didn’t make the trip, ahead 10 minutes after half-time and Isaac Olaofe added the second on 72.

Corrie Ndaba came closest to scoring for Town when he volleyed against the bar just before the break.

Harrison, playing his first game after suffering an ankle injury in late September, wasn't far away from finding the net on a couple of occasions in the first half before making what was presumably a planned half-time exit.

Fellow frontman Aaron Drinan, whose loan at Sutton United has been ended early, played 79 minutes.

The defeat is the U23s’ first since the opening day of their season but they remain top of the Professional Development League Two South table by two points with second-placed QPR not in action.

U23s: Wright, Cotter, Kenlock, C Smith, Ndaba, McGavin, McLoughlin, El Mizouni (Dobra 79), Folami, Harrison (McKendry 46), Drinan (K Brown 79). Unused: Egan, Clements.
